Hey everyone,
Sorry for the late June newsletter. My family and I were on vacation to Mongolia with a brief stop in Beijing on the way back. It was an amazing trip, and I plan to write more about it. For now, I'll keep this brief since it's halfway through July already!
In Beijing, we got a behind-the-scenes-tour of a Peking Opera company, including some face painting and a chance to learn how to perform some of the Monkey King scenes. I had a lot of fun and even made the children crack a smile with my Monkey Dad antics. 😄
I did manage to sneak in some writing time on the trip and have now completed the animation script for Choosing Fate as well as the one-act play script for Adrift. I've shared them with my beta readers and await feedback. I also need to look for opportunities in San Francisco to connect with other playwrights. I'm not sure what the next steps are to get a play out into the world, but that's on the to do list as well.
Still, progress was made. Script writing continues to keep me interested, and my jet-lagged brain has been making good use of the 3 AM wake ups to come up with more ideas.
